Christian Wanamaker

Chief Technology Officer at MOVIA Robotics

Christian Wanamaker has had a long and varied career in software engineering and robotics. In 2008, they began working as a Lead Developer and Software Developer at the UConn CHIP Advanced Interactive Technology Center, where they designed and developed a control system for a large interactive wall for Boston Children's Hospital and a robot control system. In 2015, they took on a Contract Programmer role at UConn Digital Media and Design, where they continued to develop the Boston Children's Hospital Interactive Media wall, extended the project to allow for 3d perspective scenes, and created custom shaders for special effects. In 2017, they took on a Contract Programmer role at UConn School of Engineering, where they designed and developed Virtual Reality experiments to evaluate various strategies for better evacuation of public spaces. In 2012, they began working at Movia Robotics as a Lead Software Developer, where they designed and developed the DRCS (Dynamic Robot Control System). In 2018, they were promoted to Chief Technology Officer at Movia Robotics and took on the role of Lead Software Engineer, where they further worked on increasing the capabilities of the DRCS, including adding new robots and designing and implementing new features. This led to the development of Woz Teacher's Aid, a software suite to allow teachers to build, administer, and track the progress of lessons to children with special needs, without the need for an RAI (Robot Assisted Instruction) specialist.

Christian Wanamaker obtained a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Connecticut between 2008 and 2009.
