Claire Zuidervliet

Conservation Propagator at Mt. Cuba Center

Claire Zuidervliet has extensive experience in horticulture, currently serving as a Conservation Propagator at Mt. Cuba Center since July 2022, where responsibilities include the propagation of all plants. Prior to this role, Claire worked at Longwood Gardens from September 2017 to July 2022, first as a Senior Grower, managing a collection of over 200 unique Chrysanthemums, and previously as a Grower, specializing in the cultivation of specialty Chrysanthemums using traditional Japanese techniques. Earlier roles include Assistant Vegetative Grower at Gro'n Sell, Inc., Garden Center/Cashier at The Market at DelVal, and Greenhouse Assistant at Delaware Valley University. Claire's foundational experience also includes an internship at George Didden Greenhouses and a long tenure as a lifeguard and swim instructor at Northern Middlesex YMCA. Claire holds a Bachelor's Degree in Floriculture and Nursery Production from Delaware Valley University and a high school diploma focused on Plant Science from Middletown High School.
