Your role As Munich Electrification’s Functional Safety Manager, you’ll join a cadre of system engineering experts, bridging the gap between project management, hardware, and software engineering. With our focus on product excellence, you will have the rare opportunity to engage with nearly every facet of ISO 26262 standards. Your role is pivotal in devising and refining advanced safety concepts for electric powertrains and energy storage systems, ensuring our products are not only innovative but also safe and secure. 

Your future tasks at a glance

  • Strategically plan and oversee safety activities and concepts across customer-driven and in-house development initiatives.
  • Co-ordinate, consult and provide guidance on various functional safety topics within the organization.
  • Evaluate the implications of changes at both project and functional levels, directing teams towards safety compliance.
  • Engage in critical discussions on safety concepts, analyses, and requirements synchronization.
  • Perform verification and confirmation reviews, ensure quality and correctness of various safety work products.
  • Cross-functional understanding of various development topics and facilitating seamless communication across various development spheres.
  • Explore areas like ISO 21434 Cybersecurity and ASPICE, aligning with your professional growth interests.

What you bring with you

  • Successfully completed university degree in an engineering field
  • 2+ years of experience in functional safety or a related field within the automotive V-cycle (System, Hardware, Software engineering, or testing).
  • A proactive self-starter, confident and eager to assume project leadership.
  • A creative thinker with a zest for cutting-edge electronic innovations.
  • A team player with exceptional communication skills (fluency in English; German is a plus).
  • Familiar with ISO 21434, Automotive SPICE, and possess foundational programming skills (Python, C, C++).
