Jenny Cook

Jenny Cook has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Jenny is currently working at MURAL as a Learning & Development Manager since November 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Segment as a People Development Manager from August 2019 to May 2020. Jenny was the first L&D hire at the company and played a significant role in developing L&D strategies and programs. However, their tenure was affected by the COVID-19 layoff. Prior to Segment, Jenny worked at Thumbtack from February 2018 to July 2019, where they served as the Learning & Development Lead, responsible for building global onboarding, manager development, career development, and team-building programs. Jenny joined Thumbtack as a Customer Relations Specialist in November 2013 and gradually progressed to the role of Senior Learning & Development Specialist. Before joining Thumbtack, Jenny worked as a Fourth Grade Collaborative Team Teaching (CTT) Teacher at Public Preparatory Network from January 2013 to June 2013. Jenny also gained valuable teaching experience as an English Teacher in the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program(me) (JET) from July 2011 to July 2012. Jenny's career started as a First Grade Lead Teacher at Public Preparatory Network in August 2007, where they worked until June 2011. Throughout their work experience, Jenny has demonstrated a strong passion for learning and development, and has made significant contributions in creating L&D strategies and programs at the organizations they have worked for.

Jenny Cook holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Literature from Bowdoin College. Jenny also has a Master's degree in Childhood Education Grades 1-6 from Bank Street College of Education. Prior to their higher education, they obtained a High School Diploma from Castilleja School. In terms of additional certifications, Jenny is a Certified Practitioner of Human Centered Design from the LUMA Institute, a Managing Learning Programs Certificate holder from the Association for Talent Development (ATD), and a Certified StrengthsFinder Coach certified by Gallup. Jenny obtained their Certified Practitioner of Human Centered Design certification in September 2021, their Managing Learning Programs Certificate in May 2019, and their Certified StrengthsFinder Coach certification in July 2018.
