Maria B.

Maria B. has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Maria is currently working at Mural as an Engineering Manager since June 2023. In their previous role at PayByPhone from March 2021 to March 2022, they led cross-functional development teams focusing on building an API Gateway. Maria also founded Belongst in December 2020, aiming to create an inclusive community for minorities in tech. Prior to that, they worked as a Technical Advisor and Partner at 4HIRE from March 2018 to September 2020, managing an overseas development team. Maria also had a short stint as an Engineering Manager at Bench Accounting from October 2019 to March 2020. Additionally, Maria has served as a Mentor at Lighthouse Labs from August 2017 to December 2019 and as a Technical Team Lead and Frontend Developer at Aavri from October 2018 to October 2019. Maria has worked as an Independent Contractor since April 2014, taking on web development and project management roles for various clients. Maria B. has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science from the University of Victoria. In 2015, they attended Design Lab and obtained a degree in UX Academy, with a focus on User Experience. Maria then pursued further education in User Experience Design at CareerFoundry starting from 2016. In April 2021, Maria obtained the Scrum Master Certified (SMC) certification from Scrum Alliance.
