Mahendra Singh

Mahendra Singh is an experienced translational scientist currently leading assay development and validation for lentiviral gene therapy clinical programs at Mustang Bio since July 2021. With a strong academic background, Mahendra served as Assistant Professor of Cancer Biology at the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine, where leadership of a research group contributed to a phase 1 clinical trial for an investigational new drug in breast cancer. Previous roles include Senior Scientist at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, where significant research focused on cancer progression signaling pathways, and consultant for Guidepoint, providing expertise in oncology drug discovery. Mahendra's early career included senior scientific roles at Masonic Cancer Center and the Cell Culture Company, contributing to the development of molecular assays for cancer treatment. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology and postdoctoral research from Fox Chase Cancer Center.
