Matt Nutt

COO at Mythical Games

Matt Nutt is currently the COO at Mythical Games. Prior to that, they were the Vice President and Group GM at Electronic Arts (EA) from September 2016 to November 2020. There, they managed a portfolio of mostly mobile, free-to-play games optimizing catalog for profit, investing in live service titles for upside, and funding new projects. Matt was recruited to lead the turnaround of PopCap after the founders had exited post-acquisition. At PopCap, they led talent acquisition and development, culture transformation, and resetting studio mission, strategy, and slate. The remit grew to 5 studios, approximately 350 employees in 5 locations worldwide: PopCap (Seattle), Pogo (SF Bay Area/Shanghai), Slingshot (Hyderabad), FireMonkeys (Melbourne) and Redwood Studios (SF Bay area).

Before EA, Matt Nutt was the Vice President and General Manager at Glu Mobile from May 2013 to August 2016. There, they oversaw Glu’s racing (Long Beach), sports (Redwood City) and invest/express (Portland) studios which created and ran the Racing Rivals and Tap Sports Baseball franchises. Prior to Glu Mobile, Matt Nutt was the Director of Business Development at Square Enix from August 2012 to March 2013.

Matt Nutt graduated from the University of Washington with a BS in Biology. Matt then went on to Weber State University for further education.
