James Ragon

James Ragon has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. James began their career as an Industrial Engineering Intern at UPS in 2000, followed by a role as an Operations Resource at Frito Lay from 2001 to 2002. Ragon then transitioned into the legal field, working as a Judicial Extern at two different courts in 2006 and 2007. James later joined Dechert LLP as a Senior Associate from 2008 to 2016. In 2016, Ragon joined NAGRA, where they held the positions of Director of Intellectual Property and subsequently Vice President, Chief IP Counsel. In their latest role at NAGRA, Ragon was responsible for leading global innovation and IP strategies, managing trademark, patent, and trade secret portfolios, providing strategic counsel and transaction support, and delivering IP-related training and education to senior leadership.

James Ragon's education history begins in 1996 when they enrolled at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. James pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and completed their studies in 2001. Following this, they attended the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) from 2005 to 2008. During this time, James obtained a Juris Doctor degree with an emphasis on Intellectual Property. In 2018, they furthered their education at INSEAD, where they participated in the Emerging Leaders in a Digital Age program, focusing on Organizational Leadership.
