Martha Contreras

Chapter President at NAHJ (National Association of Hispanic Journalists)

Martha Contreras has a diverse work experience spanning various fields. Martha served as the President of the NAHJ (National Association of Hispanic Journalists) chapter and worked as a Reporter for The Daily Northwestern. Martha also worked as a Summer Researcher at Northwestern University, where they conducted an investigation on AMLO's Mañaneras. Martha gained experience as a Communications Intern at Alliance San Diego and as a Legal Assistant at LHF law. Additionally, Martha was a Community Journalism Scholar at The San Diego Union-Tribune, where several of their stories were published. Martha also worked as a Digital Marketing Analyst at Dos Amigos, Inc. and a Business Development Analyst at Solare Energy Inc.

Martha Contreras began their education at Pacific Ridge School, where they obtained their High School Diploma from 2017 to 2021. Following their high school graduation, Martha enrolled at Northwestern University in 2021. Martha is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism, International Studies, and Legal Studies, which they are expected to complete in 2025.
