Joseph Holland

Optical Engineer at NanoCellect Biomedical

Joseph Holland has worked in various roles in the optical engineering field since 2016. In 2016, they were a Research Assistant at San Diego State University where they used an in-house scripting language to generate novel polarization diffraction gratings, optimized the alignment of a many element laser system for data collection, and assisted in the data analysis and writing of publications. In 2017, they worked as a Research and Development Intern at Lockheed Martin, where they contributed to SPIDER - Segmented Planar Imaging Detector for Electro-optical Reconnaissance, designed experimental set ups to characterize a Photonic Integrated Circuit, and wrote scripts and codes to collect and analyze data. In 2018, they worked as an Optical Engineer at Wavefront Research Inc, where they designed and constructed experiments to gather necessary data for analysis, used modeling to ensure no errors were introduced into the measurements, wrote numerous scripts to analyze system performance via image processing, and conversed with vendors to procure components with difficult specifications and solve problems with defective or inoperable components/devices. Since 2019, Joseph Holland has been an Optical Engineer at NanoCellect Biomedical, Inc.

Joseph Holland attended the University of Rochester from 2017 to 2018, where they attained a Masters degree in Optics. Prior to that, they attended SDSU from 2013 to 2017 and earned a Bachelors of Physics in Optics.
