Conn Mallett

Conn Mallett has a diverse work experience in the fields of research, sales, and academia. Currently, Mallett is working as an Assistant Research Professor at City of Hope since March 2022. Prior to this, Mallett was employed as an Account Executive at Nanome Inc. starting in August 2021.

From 2019 to 2021, Mallett served as a Technical Sales Representative at Anton Paar USA, specializing in Particle Characterization. Before that, Mallett held the position of Senior Account Manager, Life Science Electron Microscopy at Thermo Fisher Scientific from May 2018 to January 2019.

Earlier in their career, Mallett worked as a Senior Account Manager at Rigaku Oxford Diffraction from August 2015 to January 2018. Before that, Mallett held multiple roles at Rigaku Life Science, including Director of Sales from August 2011 to August 2015, General Manager, Rigaku Europe from July 2009 to August 2011, Scientific and Technical Operations Manager, Rigaku Europe from September 2007 to July 2009, and Senior Application Scientist, Rigaku Europe from May 2006 to September 2007.

Prior to their industry experience, Mallett worked as an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at Wake Forest University from October 2001 to May 2006. Their role involved leading the establishment of Structural Biology at the university, directing NIH-funded research projects, and managing the Macromolecular X-ray Crystallography core facility.

Mallett also gained international research experience as a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow at Osaka University Protein Research Center from September 1999 to September 2001. During this time, they conducted protein crystallization and X-ray diffraction studies, focusing on enzymatic mechanisms and structure refinement.

Conn Mallett received their High School Diploma from Williamstown High in Williamstown, WV in 1989. Conn then attended Virginia Tech from 1989 to 1993, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry and Chemistry. Following that, they attended Wake Forest University School of Medicine from 1993 to 1999 and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry.
