Anup Tank

Data Scientist at NanoMosaic

Anup Tank has a diverse range of work experience in various scientific research and development roles. Anup started their career as a Sustainability Intern at Moon Lith Press, where they focused on promoting environmentally friendly materials for marketing purposes. Anup then worked as an OOS Intern at nSymbio, providing printing and marketing support for biotechnology companies.

Anup's interest in biomedical research led him to work as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Ideker Laboratory, where they utilized bioinformatics to create network models of cellular processes and diseases. Anup also contributed to the development of an automated RNA extraction system as a member of the RNA Extraction Team at Engineering World Health.

Anup further expanded their skills in optics and photonics by working as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Esener Laboratory, where they developed a specialized optical trapping system. Anup also collaborated on a Senior Design Project at UCSD Nanoengineering Department, optimizing the synthesis and validation of a DNA tetrahedron for chemotherapy drug delivery.

In pursuit of their passion for oncology applications, Anup joined the Biomedical Optical Technologies Lab as a Graduate Research Assistant. Anup played a leading role in analyzing a large, multi-center clinical trial that involved measuring the oxygenation of tumors in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Currently, they are a Data Scientist at NanoMosaic Inc.

Throughout their career, Anup has consistently demonstrated their dedication to scientific research, innovation, and problem-solving in various fields.

Anup Tank completed their education in the field of bioengineering and biomedical engineering. Anup started their academic journey in 2012 and successfully graduated from UC San Diego in 2016 with a Bachelor's of Science in Nanoengineering. To further enhance their knowledge and expertise, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering at Boston University from 2016 to 2018. Anup continued their education at Boston University and successfully completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from 2018 to 2022. Additionally, they obtained the Good Clinical Practice Course (US FDA focus) certification from the CITI Program in September 2022.
