Tom Barber

Tom Barber has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Tom started their career as a Pentaho Systems Integrator at Encon Insulation & Nevill Long and later worked as a BI Team Lead at Muzicall. Tom then founded Analytical Labs, where they focused on product design, development, and software integration for organizations.

Tom also held multiple roles at The Apache Software Foundation, including being a member and serving as the Vice President of Apache OODT. Tom joined Research Platforms LTD as CEO before moving on to become the Director at Meteorite Consulting, where they led the team for product design and development and software integration for advanced analytics.

Tom's expertise in data and technology continued to grow as they worked at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, serving as a Senior Enterprise Data Architect and Systems Engineer, as well as a Senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer. At Consilient, they took on the role of VP of Engineering and led the development and deployment of technology to streamline production and scale business performance.

Currently, Tom is the Director of Spicule LTD and serves as the VP of Engineering at Consilient, where they focus on developing technology and driving technical development for code deployment and cloud services. Throughout their career, Tom has demonstrated their ability to deliver mission success, improve security, and drive revenue growth for organizations through their technical expertise and leadership skills.

Tom Barber attended Leeds Beckett University from 2000 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computing. Prior to that, they completed their A Levels at Whitby Community College. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional certification in December 2023, as well as the Academy Accreditation - Databricks Lakehouse Fundamentals certification and the Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate certification in November 2023.
