Project Manager, Flight Demonstrations & Capabilities at NASA

Brent Cobleigh is the current Project Manager for Flight Demonstrations and Capabilities at NASA. Brent has held this position since July 2010. Prior to that, they served as Deputy Director and Director of Dryden's Exploration projects, and was responsible for the supervision of the project management and business support staff. In this role, they managed Dryden's support of the highly successful Orion Pad Abort 1 flight demonstration. Brent also administered the development and execution of the $40M center exploration budget, coordinated center resource commitments to the project, and negotiated solutions to numerous project safety and operational issues.

Before their time at Dryden, Brent Cobleigh worked at NASA Headquarters as a Technical Program Analyst for the Vehicle Systems Program from August 2003 to July 2004. Before that, they were Chief Engineer/Aerospace Engineer at Dryden Flight Research Center from July 1991 to August 2003.

Brent Cobleigh has a Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from The George Washington University - School of Engineering & Applied Science, and a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona. Brent also has certification from Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education in Certificate of Public Leadership, Leadership Decision Making, and Driving Government Performance: Leadership Strategies that Produce Results. In addition, they have certification from the Federal Executive Institute in Leadership for a Democratic Society, and U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) in Federal Acquisition Certification for Program/Project Managers (FAC-P/PM).

Brent Cobleigh reports to Lee Noble, Acting Director, Integrated Aviation Systems Program. Some direct reports include Tom Horn - Deputy Project Manager for Capabilities, Mike Guminsky - Deputy Project Manager for Flight Demonstrations. They are on a team with Mauricio Rivas - Project Manager, UAS Integration in the NAS, Craig Nickol - Project Manager, Low Boom Flight Demonstrator, and Nateri Madavan - Deputy Director, Integrated Aviation Systems Program.
