Laurie Leshin

Director, Jet Propulsion Laboratory at NASA

Laurie Leshin is the current Director of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory at NASA. Laurie has also served as the President of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Dean of the School of Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Deputy Associate Administrator for Exploration Systems Mission Directorate at NASA. Leshin's experience as a scientist began at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, where they served as Director of Sciences and Exploration Directorate and Deputy Center Director for Science & Technology. In these positions, Leshin oversaw the development of many successful space missions, including the Mars Curiosity Rover mission. Leshin was appointed by President Obama to the Advisory Board for the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in recognition of their significant contributions to the field of science.

Laurie Leshin began their educational career by obtaining a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Arizona State University. Laurie then obtained a master's degree in Geochemistry from Caltech. Finally, they obtained a doctorate in Geochemistry from Caltech.
