Maria Alexandrova

Head of Innovation Projects and Sustainability at Nasekomo

Maria Alexandrova has been working in the field of innovation and sustainability since 2003. Maria began their career as an Office Manager at BAATPE in 2003. In 2005, they took on roles as a Senior Fellow at ARC Consulting Ltd. and a Technology Transfer and Business Development Consultant at Enterprise Europe Network - Bulgaria. From 2012 to 2016, they worked as the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Manager at Cleantech Bulgaria. In 2019, they became a Horizon 2020 "Climate action, Environment, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials" National Contact for the Ministry of Education and Science, Bulgaria. Most recently, they have been the Head of Innovation Projects and Sustainability at Nasekomo since 2021, where they are responsible for planning and managing projects and implementing the company's sustainability strategy.

Maria Alexandrova has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria, where they studied Textile Technologies from 1999 to 2003. Maria then went on to pursue a Master's degree in International Economy from the University of National and World Economy, Bulgaria, where they studied International Economic Relations from 2006 to 2008. Maria also attended the Ivan Vazov Language School School in Smolian at some point. Additionally, Maria has obtained certifications in Agile Software Development from ETH Zürich in August 2020, Assessor for the Certified Professional by EIT Climate-KIC for future-oriented job skills from EIT Climate-KIC in January 2018, and Certified Innovation Promotion Manager from EIT Climate-KIC Certified Professional in May 2017.
