Jonathan Shuffield is the Legislative Director for the Public Lands & Western Interstate Region at the National Association of Counties. Jonathan has over six years of experience working in the U.S. House of Representatives, including as a Legislative Director overseeing a staff of four.

Jonathan has a broad range of experience with various policy areas, including natural resources, energy, immigration, judiciary, appropriations, and Native American affairs. Jonathan was selected by the Northeast Wyoming Municipal Leaders to participate in an annual congressional staff trip to tour energy development and conservation sites in Wyoming.

Jonathan’s previous experience includes working as a Legislative Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives for two years. In this role, they assisted with drafting legislation, conducting research, and responding to constituent inquiries.

Jonathan Shuffield has a bachelor's degree in government from The University of Texas at Austin.

They are on a team with Julia Cortina - Legislative Associate, Aaliyah Nedd - Associate Legislative Director, Agriculture & Rural Affairs & Immigration Reform Task Force, and Paige Mellerio - Associate Legislative Director, Finance, Pensions & Intergovernmental Affairs. Jonathan Shuffield reports to Mark Ritacco, Chief Government Affairs Officer. and Owen Hart - Legislative Assistant reports to Jonathan Shuffield.
