Sylvia Gimenez has had extensive experience in the field of communications and marketing. Sylvia started their career as an Editorial Assistant at Worth Publications in 1993. Sylvia then worked as a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Michigan from 1995 to 1997.
In 1999, Sylvia joined eMarketer as a Digital Editorial Manager, where they built and managed the online editorial department. Sylvia oversaw the production of website content and e-mail newsletters, as well as the implementation of an online style guide.
From 2001 to 2004, Sylvia worked at BizFu as a Communications & Marketing Lead. Sylvia'sresponsibilities included technical documentation, editing, website production, and copywriting.
In 2004, Sylvia joined the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) as a Managing Editor. Sylvia spearheaded communication updates to a large network of affordable housing and community development agencies. In 2017, they were promoted to Director of Communications, where they took charge of the development and execution of an integrated communications and marketing strategy. Sylvia managed a team of communication and marketing professionals, as well as various consultants and vendors.
Sylvia Gimenez has a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Barnard College. Sylvia also holds a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan. In addition to their academic degrees, Sylvia has obtained several certifications, including Integrated Marketing Communications Strategies, Become a Trauma Informed Leader, Digital Accessibility for the Modern Workplace, and Diversity and Inclusion in Marketing: Inclusive Language for Marketers. These certifications were obtained from LinkedIn in 2022, with specific months of attainment provided for each.
