Elija Flores

Geographic Information Systems Technician at National Audubon Society

Elija Flores has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Starting in 2014, they worked as an Aquatic Ecology Research Intern at Gallaudet University, where they assisted with investigating changes in nutrient dynamics and biodiversity in the Anacostia River. In 2015, they joined Maricopa County as a Data Analyst Intern. Elija then became an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Arizona State University, where they supported Dr. Amber Wutich's team in research projects focused on environmental concerns and population well-being. In 2017, they worked as a Student Assistant at Esri, assisting with the logistics of the Esri User Conference. Elija also served as an Administrative Assistant at Opportunities for Youth, providing support to the Executive Director. Currently, at the National Audubon Society, Elija holds the role of Geographic Information Systems Technician and was previously a Dangermond Fellow - Enterprise GIS.

Elija Flores completed their Bachelor's degree in Global Health from Arizona State University between 2010 and 2015. In 2014 and 2015, they also pursued a minor in Sustainability at the same institution. Later, in 2016 and 2017, they obtained their Master's degree in Geographic Information Systems, also from Arizona State University.
