Vassilios Karamouzis

General Manager of Corporate and Investment Banking at National Bank of Greece

Vassilis Karamouzis was appointed General Manager of Corporate and Investment Banking at the National Bank in January 2020.

After joining the National Bank, he worked for 8 years (2009-2017) at HSBC in various management positions: he started as Head of Global Market Sales and Debt Capital Markets for Greece and Cyprus at HSBC Greece and later transferred to HSBC London as Head of Structured Finance Origination for Southern Europe and Capital Financing for Greece and Cyprus and most recently as Managing Director, Member of EMEA Financing Management and Head of Investment Banking Greece and Cyprus.

He started his professional career in 2001 at Deutsche Bank in London, where he remained until mid-2009. Initially he worked in the sales department of hedge funds, while in the period 2006-2009 he was Head of Foreign Exchange and Commodity Sales for Greece and the Middle East. .

He holds an MSc in Finance from Birkbeck College, University of London and a degree in Economics from the University of Piraeus.
