Emilie Ritter

Emilie Ritter has a diverse background in communications and journalism. Emilie is currently serving as the Director of Communications & Development at the National Center for Appropriate Technology. Prior to this role, they founded Rooted Solutions in 2016. Emilie also held the position of Director of Communications & Public Affairs at the Montana Department of Commerce from 2017 to 2021, where they led a team and implemented various communication strategies. Before that, they worked as the Communications Director at the Montana Office of Public Instruction, managing external communications and developing multimedia tools. Emilie also worked on political campaigns, including serving as a Communications role on Denise Juneau's campaign for Congress. Emilie has a strong background in journalism, having worked as a Digital Content Coordinator and Journalist at Boise State Public Radio, a Freelance Reporter for NPR, Reuters, and National Native News, and as the Capitol Bureau Chief at Montana Public Radio.

Emilie Ritter obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Montana, where they studied from 2003 to 2007.
