Jacinda Abcarian

Development Manager at National Center For Youth Law

Jacinda Abcarian joined NCYL in September 2020 as a Development Manager. She works with NCYL’s staff to secure funding for transformative work that improves outcomes for young people involved in the juvenile justice and foster care systems. Abcarian has more than twenty years’ fundraising experience in the nonprofit youth development arena. Most recently she served as the Senior Grants Manager at Social Advocates for Youth (SAY) San Diego. Previously, she worked as the Director of Development for the Ecology Center, and the East Oakland Youth Development Center. Abcarian began her career at Youth Radio (now YR Media) as a radio journalist, reporting on the juvenile justice system and working with community-based organizations across the state on media advocacy and violence prevention initiatives. She filled many roles within the organization, including Development Director and Executive Director. Abcarian has a BA in Sociology from UC Berkeley, an MSW with a focus on Communities and Social Systems from the University of Michigan, and a certificate in Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management from Harvard Business School’s Executive Education program.
