Allison Higgins

Director Of Network Engagement at National Council of Nonprofits

Allison Higgins has a diverse work experience that spans several non-profit organizations and roles. Allison started their career at the National Military Family Association in 2006, where they worked as a Field Coordinator and later as the Deputy Director of Volunteer Services. In these roles, they focused on improving the professional development and training of Association volunteers, advocating for military families at local and state levels, and coordinating the organization's global volunteer corps.

In 2011, Allison joined the Hawaii Alliance of Nonprofit Organizations as the Director of Membership and Marketing. During their time there, they played a key role in expanding membership and marketing initiatives, managing research and publications, and cultivating relationships with corporate affinity programs.

Allison also worked at the University of Hawaii at Manoa as a Graduate Assistant and Tutor in the MPA Program. Additionally, they served as the President of the Fort Rucker Community Spouses' Club, where they led the organization from 2015 to 2016.

Currently, Allison is employed at the National Council of Nonprofits, where they initially worked as a Network Engagement Specialist starting in 2016. Allison later transitioned into their current role as the Director of Network Engagement in July 2018.

Allison Higgins has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Penn State University. Allison also holds a Master of Public Administration degree, specializing in Public Administration and Nonprofit Management, from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
