Julia Nelson Harper

Julia (Juley) Nelson Harper is an accomplished educator with extensive experience in English and education. Currently serving as an Associate Professor of English at Wor-Wic Community College since January 2013, Julia has also held the role of Assistant Professor. Additionally, as a Professional Development Consultant for the National Council of Teachers of English since 2016, Julia has designed and led professional development for various school districts along the East Coast. Julia has contributed to the Education Department at Salisbury University as an Adjunct Professor and previously worked as an English Language Arts Education Specialist for the Delaware Department of Education, where responsibilities included curriculum and assessment leadership. Julia began a career in education as a Middle School Language Arts Teacher, eventually becoming Department Chair in the Delmar School District. Recognized as the Delaware Teacher of the Year in 2001, Julia holds multiple degrees, including a Doctor of Education in Contemporary Curriculum Theory and Instruction: Literacy from Salisbury University.
