Millie Davis has extensive experience in the field of education and advocacy for English language teaching. As the Director of the Intellectual Freedom Center and Senior Developer of Affiliates at the National Council of Teachers of English since 1989, Millie Davis oversees communications, programs for 120 affiliate and special interest groups, grassroots advocacy, and anti-censorship initiatives. Millie Davis previously served as an Adjunct Instructor of English at Parkland College from 1997 to 2012, focusing on composition courses, and taught at George Wythe High School in Richmond Public Schools from 1979 to 1989, covering various grade levels and serving as an advisor for a celebrated literary magazine. Millie Davis holds a BA/MA in English/English Education from Virginia Commonwealth University and has additional education from the University of Connecticut.
