Justine Schmidt

Justine Schmidt is an accomplished media professional with extensive experience in production and content development across various platforms. Currently serving as Vice President of Production at National Geographic since July 2022, Schmidt oversees a talented team dedicated to wildlife and nature storytelling. Previously, as Chief Content Officer at PBS North Carolina, strategic leadership was provided for program development and scheduling across multiple channels. Notable roles also include consulting for the Smithsonian Channel on international content acquisitions, founding Blue Tribe Media, and managing the global Fin Free™ campaign for United Conservationists. Schmidt holds a Master's Degree in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation from UC San Diego and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Duke University.
