Vice President, State Affairs And Grassroots Advocacy at National Restaurant Association

Mike Whatley began their work experience in 2008 as a Research Intern at the National Republican Congressional Committee. Mike went on to work as an Intern at the House Republican Cloakroom in 2009 and as an Intern at the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in 2010. In the same year, they also worked as a Communications Intern at Claremont McKenna College Annual Giving. From 2010 to 2011, they served as a New Media Manager at the Rose Institute of State and Local Government. In 2011, they joined the House Oversight Committee as a Professional Staff Member until 2013. Mike Whatley then transitioned to the National Restaurant Association, where they held various roles, including Senior Coordinator, Manager, Director, and Vice President in State and Local Affairs. Mike'smost recent position at the National Restaurant Association is Vice President of State Affairs and Grassroots Advocacy, which they have held since 2020.

Mike Whatley completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Georgetown University McDonough School of Business from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Government, Magna Cum Laude, from Claremont McKenna College, graduating from 2007 to 2011. Mike completed their high school education at Georgetown Preparatory School from 2003 to 2007.
