Carla Haroz

United States Antarctic Program Operations Manager at National Science Foundation

Carla Haroz currently serves as the Operations Manager for the United States Antarctic Program at the National Science Foundation since November 2021. Prior to this role, Carla accumulated extensive experience at NASA from February 2001 to November 2021, where notable positions included Group Lead of the Vehicle Operations and Systems Integration Group, overseeing the integration of two teams into MAVRIC, managing over 40 personnel. Additional roles at NASA encompassed leadership in various flight controller capacities for the International Space Station, including responsibilities as ISS CAPCOM and Operations Lead. Earlier in Carla's career, positions included graduate researcher at Draper Laboratory focused on guidance, navigation, and control systems, as well as work at the German Aerospace Research Center on solar sail research. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Arctic Engineering from the University of Alaska Anchorage, and dual Bachelor degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Russian Language and Literature from The University of Texas at Austin.
