Modesto Orozco

Modesto Orozco has a diverse work experience in various prestigious organizations. Modesto founded and currently serves as the President of NBD | Nostrum Biodiscovery since September 2016. Prior to that, they worked as a Group Leader at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine in Barcelona from January 2000 onwards. Modesto also served as the Node Director at the Instituto Nacional de Bioinformática from January 1998. In addition, Modesto Orozco has been a Full Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Barcelona since 1987. Modesto also held the position of Director of Life Sciences Department at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center from January 2005 to June 2016.

Modesto Orozco completed their education at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona from 1980 to 1985. During this time, they earned a PhD in Chemistry and a Licenciatura (equivalent to a bachelor's degree) in Química (Chemistry) and Bioquímica (Biochemistry).
