Matthew Battersby

Matthew Battersby is an experienced legal professional specializing in competition and regulatory matters. Currently serving as Senior Legal Counsel at nbn™ Australia since January 2020, Matthew has held various acting roles, including General Manager of Regulatory - Pricing & Products and Managing Counsel for Residential & Wholesale Supply. Prior to this, Matthew worked at Clayton Utz from October 2010 to December 2019 as a Senior Associate, focusing on competition, corporate advisory, consumer law, and regulatory issues in the telecommunications and energy sectors. Matthew also gained valuable experience as an Associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer from October 2015 to September 2017, concentrating on antitrust and competition law. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons 1) and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Macquarie University, as well as a Higher School Certificate from The King's School.
