Sharon E. Loza

Sharon E. Loza currently serves as the Chief Data Modernization Officer at the NC Department of Health and Human Services, a role held since June 2024. In addition, Sharon holds multiple adjunct faculty positions at institutions such as the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and Appalachian State University. As an Early Childhood Consultant for UNICEF Thailand and UNICEF Europe & Central Asia, Sharon focuses on frameworks for early childhood development and collaboration with stakeholders. Previous experience includes roles as an Education Program Specialist and data implementation facilitator at the U.S. Department of Education, as well as serving as Assistant Director at the NC Department of Health and Human Services. Sharon's extensive educational background includes a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development from North Carolina State University and advanced studies at prestigious institutions such as the University of Oxford and Duke University.
