Sheila Fortson

Sheila Fortson, MS, WCP® has extensive experience in communications and media, with roles in various organizations. Starting in 2024, they serve as an Adjunct Professor of Communications at various colleges and universities, teaching topics such as Executive Communications, Corporate Branding, and Social Media. Prior to this, they were the Director of Corporate & ESG Communications and INSIGHTS Video Edition Host at NCCI from 2016 to 2023. Sheila also worked as the Director of Social Media & Communications at NCCI from 2016 to 2023. From 2015 to 2016, they were the Director of Communications & Social Media at The Salvation Army Naples Regional Coordinate. Sheila Fortson also has experience as the owner and operator of a women's clothing store, Hidden Glam Clothing Boutique, and as the Regional Manager of Public Relations, Media, and Communications at Boscov's Department Store. Additionally, they have hosted shows on EDtv (Education TV), WIFI 1460 AM Radio, and Service Electric Cable Television. Sheila started their career as a Newsroom Assistant at Blue Ridge Cable, TV 13, and later worked as a Store Operations Manager at Casual Male Retail Group.

Sheila Fortson holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Global Strategic Communications from Florida International University, which they earned between 2018 and 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Broadcast Journalism from Temple University, completing their studies from 2001 to 2006. In addition to their academic qualifications, Sheila has also obtained several certifications, including the AMCOMP Workers' Compensation Professional Designation from the American Society of Workers' Compensation Professionals in 2021, and the Sustainable Business Strategy certification from Harvard Business School Online in 2022. Sheila is also certified in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace from the University of South Florida. Sheila has further expanded their skills and knowledge by obtaining certifications in AI Fundamentals for Non-Data Scientists and AI Applications in Marketing and Finance from Wharton Online, with the year 2023 indicated as the expected completion. Additionally, Sheila is a certified graduate of Twitter Flight School.
