Dave Worlund

Dave Worlund has a diverse work history with experience in various industries. Dave began their career at H.L. Raburn & Company, CPA's, where they worked as a Staff Accountant for three years. Dave then moved on to Hullett, Kellem & McKinney, P.C., where they continued as a Staff Accountant, performing auditing procedures and preparing financial statements.

In 1992, Worlund joined Bolton Furniture Company, Inc. as the Controller and Operations Manager, overseeing the daily operations of a regional retail furniture chain. Dave was responsible for managing cash flow and expanding the business to 12 retail locations.

From 1994 to 1996, Worlund worked as the Controller for First Capital Mortgage Corporation, overseeing the accounting function for a mortgage brokerage firm with multiple offices. Dave performed monthly and annual closings and generated timely financial statements.

Worlund then joined Witness Wear Christian Clothiers, Inc. as the Vice President of Operations. Dave supervised the daily operations of a t-shirt screen printing company and marketed products to churches and schools. During their tenure, the company achieved annual sales of $20 million and employed over 180 individuals.

From 2001 to 2003, Worlund worked as a Senior District Leader for Primerica Financial Services, where they performed financial analysis for clients and developed financial programs to help clients achieve their goals.

Dave then returned to Nektar Therapeutics in 2003 as the Manufacturing Accounting Manager, supporting the manufacturing division and ensuring compliance with SOX section 404. Dave developed costing models and performed reporting for the division.

In 2005, Worlund joined Scott A. Smith Associates, Inc. as the Vice President. Dave prepared project cost estimates, developed relationships with clients and financial institutions, and delivered sales presentations.

Worlund returned to Nektar Therapeutics in 2010 as the Cost Accounting Manager and was later promoted to Associate Director of Cost Accounting in 2012.

Throughout their career, Worlund has demonstrated proficiency in accounting, financial analysis, operations management, and leadership.

Dave Worlund attended Auburn University from 1981 to 1983 where they pursued General Studies. Dave then enrolled at the University of North Alabama from 1984 to 1986, where they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting & Business Administration.
