Chief Scientist, Carbon Storage Research Facility at NERC: Natural Environment Research Council

Clare Bond has a diverse background in the field of research and academia. Clare is currently serving as the Chief Scientist for the Carbon Storage Research Facility at NERC: Natural Environment Research Council. Prior to this, they held the position of CoRWM Member at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). Clare also has a significant tenure at the University of Aberdeen, where they have been a Professor since March 2022. Before their professorship, they held roles as a Reader, Senior Lecturer, and Lecturer at the same university. Their work experience also includes serving as a Structural Geologist at Midland Valley Exploration and as an Honorary Research Fellow and Post Doc at the University of Glasgow.

Clare Bond obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Leeds. Clare attended the university from 1992 to 1995. Subsequently, Clare pursued a PhD in Earth Sciences at The University of Edinburgh from 1995 to 1999.
