Dan Downs

Dan Downs has a strong background in human resources and executive leadership. Dan is currently serving as the Vice President of People Operations at NetGain Technologies, LLC. Prior to this role, they worked as a YPO Certified Forum Facilitator at the Young Presidents' Association.

Before joining NetGain Technologies and the Young Presidents' Association, Dan served as the Vice President of Human Resources at Machol & Johannes, LLC from August 2018 to December 2021. In this role, they provided executive-level leadership and strategic direction for employees across eight states. Dan also established a culture of transparency, feedback, diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and personal growth within the organization.

Prior to their role at Machol & Johannes, Dan worked as the Human Resources Director at Optimal Home Care, Inc. from October 2011 to August 2018. Dan headed an eight-member HR department and played a key role in advising the founders and executive team on business direction and operational improvement. Dan also expanded the HR department and developed HR policies and an employee manual.

Dan's earlier experience includes a role as an Executive Team Leader (ETL) at Target from November 2005 to April 2010. In this position, they oversaw HR activities for a store scheduled for closure and successfully transitioned employees to a new store. Dan also played a pivotal role in sourcing, hiring, and onboarding new team members.

Dan Downs has a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Leadership from Bellevue University. Dan also holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois Chicago. In addition, they obtained the Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) Certification from HRCI in 2016 and is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management since 2014.
