Pierre Mayo

Pierre Mayo is currently a research intern at the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience, focusing on immunofluorescence microscopy and image analysis to study myelination changes in organotypic cortical brain slice cultures. Previously, Pierre interned at UMC Utrecht, completing a bachelor's thesis on validating and quantifying glutamatergic neuronal subpopulations using smFISH and fluorescence microscopy, achieving an A grade. As a PR Manager for UCStudios at University College Utrecht, Pierre contributed to the film committee while also gaining research experience as an assistant in the Ross Lab at Dartmouth, studying the microbiome of orthopedic trauma wounds. Pierre holds a Bachelor's degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from University College Utrecht and graduated high school from Hanover High School.
