Joe S. has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 1996 as a Producer at Millennium RUSH, LLC. Joe then moved to FASA Interactive in 1998 as a Level Designer, followed by Midway Games in 1999 as a Design Coordinator. In 2000, they worked at 3Com as an IAD - Channels Technical Coordinator. In 2001, they took a role as a Programmer at Cosmodog, Ltd. Following this, they worked at Raw Thrills from 2007 to 2014 as a Senior Programmer in Group 7. In 2014, they began working at The University of Chicago as a Lead Data Engineer & Co-software Lead in the Center for Data Intensive Science. In 2019, they took a role as Chief Data Architect & Co-Founder at Sympatic Inc. In 2020, they moved to Civis Analytics as a Tech Lead - Applied Data Engineering and Staff Applied Data Engineer. Currently, they are a Director of Data Engineering at Network Perception.

Joe S. attended American University for Print/Broadcast Journalism and DePaul University for Computer Science / Math in Computer Science.
