Mouna B. has a long history of work experience, beginning in 1994 as a Lead Software Test Engineer at RATP (Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens). In 1998, they began working at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they held four roles: Sr. Research Programmer, Cyber-Physical Computing Group; Research Programmer, Information Trust Institute; Research Programmer, Performability Engineering Research Group; and Research Programmer, Computer Science Department. In 2013, they became a Co-Founder and Sr. Software Engineer at Network Perception.

Mouna B. began their education in 1988, when they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from EPF Ecole d'Ingénieur-e-s. Mouna then went on to receive a Master's degree from IMT Atlantique in 1994. In addition to their formal education, Mouna B. has obtained several course certificates from Coursera, including the Programming with Google Go Specialization, Concurrency in Go, Functions, Methods, and Interfaces in Go, Getting Started with Go, Full Stack Web Development Specialization, Full Stack Web Development Specialization Capstone Project, Server-side Development with NodeJS, Multiplatform Mobile App Development with Web Technologies, Front-End JavaScript Frameworks: AngularJS, Front-End Web UI Frameworks and Tools, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
