Pranav Rao has a diverse work experience in various roles related to data science and analytics. Pranav began their career as an IT Intern at HP in 2013, where they created documentation and designed VBA macros to streamline support for a custom application. In 2016, Pranav worked as a Data Analytics Intern at CivicSmart, where they analyzed parking meter and sensor data to identify parking behavior and designed an application to optimize parking violation routes. Pranav then joined Northwestern University as a Graduate Student Researcher, conducting mobile game analytics research and using SQL and R to analyze gameplay data and predict user retention and churn. Pranav also worked as a Graduate Student Consultant at the university, performing descriptive analysis of park data and evaluating the impact of natural park areas on residential property values. Pranav's most recent position was at Noodle.ai, where they served as an Associate Data Scientist. In this role, they played a major role in creating and deploying a market demand prediction engine for a tire distributor. Pranav researched external data sources, combined data using SQL and R, built a prediction engine using R forecast, and assisted in deploying the engine. Pranav also engaged in additional responsibilities such as communicating findings to clients and writing custom reusable R code. Pranav has a strong foundation in data science and analytics, with experience in data processing, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis.
Pranav Rao began their education in 2008 at Memorial High School, where they completed their high school education. Following that, from 2010 to 2015, they attended Texas A&M University, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics. Pranav then furthered their education at Northwestern University from 2015 to 2016, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Data Analytics.
