Senior Operations Manager at Neurona Therapeutics

Dean Parent has worked in the field of clinical research and development for over 35 years. In 1985, they began their career as a Laboratory Assistant at the Clinical Pathology Facility/Quest Diagnostics, where they prepared cultures for chlamydia, herpes, CMV, mycoplasma, and clostridium difficle toxin. In 1989, they moved to UPMC, where they worked as a cGMP Facilities and Materials Manager, supporting clinical protocols involving therapeutic trials testing both novel, first-in-human investigator-initiated cellular products as well as commercial products for Phase I-II clinical trials. In 2020, they began working at the University of California, San Francisco as an Operations Coordinator, where they coordinated a variety of activities in the laboratory ranging from communication with the clinic nurses, physicians, and other clinical staff; several hospital and research laboratories; and organization of services from equipment, supply and service vendors, while ensuring that laboratory certifications (CAP, CLIA, FACT) and FDA cGMP and cGTP regulations were followed. Currently, Dean is a Senior Operations Manager at Neurona Therapeutics, where they support the clinical-stage development of a Neural Cell therapy by coordinating all services for equipment, collaborating with the purchasing department, supply vendors, and guaranteeing all necessary materials are in stock and available for the facility.

Dean Parent attended Sawyer School from 1984 to 1985, studying Medical/Clinical Assistant.
