Jonathan Newton

Jonathan Newton is a seasoned professional in the energy market sector, currently serving as Senior Manager of Withholding and Analysis at NYISO since April 2021. Prior to this role, Jonathan held the position of Senior Manager for Government & Regulatory Affairs at Direct Energy, where responsibilities included representing the company’s interests in stakeholder processes and analyzing market design changes. Jonathan’s experience at NYISO also includes roles as Senior ICAP Mitigation Analyst and earlier positions in ICAP Mitigation and auditing, contributing to market power mitigation and compliance efforts. Previous to NYISO, Jonathan worked as an Energy Market Analyst at ReEnergy Holdings LLC, focusing on asset optimization and market participation, and held various financial roles in earlier career stages.
