Ships Programme Director, Project Irex at KiwiRail

Massimo Soprano has a diverse and extensive work experience in the maritime industry. Massimo began their career at P&O Cruises in 1996 as a Manager of Marine Operations, where they worked until 1999. Massimo then joined Princess Cruises as a Manager of Marine & Safety until 2000, followed by Silversea Cruises, where they served as the Manager of Marine Safety and Security. In 2001, they worked as a Consultant at Sydney Ferries before moving on to ASP Ship Management as the General Manager for Australia & Pacific - Crew Management from 2002 to 2005. From 2006 to 2008, Soprano was a Director at Thompson Clarke Shipping. Massimo then joined Nakheel as the Marine Operation Manager for Coastal Communities from 2008 to 2010. In 2010, they joined Spirit of Tasmania as the Marine Project Manager, a role they held until 2016 when they became the Head of Strategic Projects. Currently, they are working at KiwiRail as the Ships Programme Director for Project iRex, starting in 2019.

From 1976 to 1981, Massimo Soprano attended the Istituto Nautico Marcantonio Colonna, where they obtained a diploma in Nautical Science.
