Katie Halberstater

Katie Halberstater has extensive work experience in leadership, talent development, and sales roles within the media industry. Katie currently holds the position of Head of Talent, Leadership and Capability at News Corp Australia, a role they assumed in January 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Capability and Culture Lead - National from September 2021 to January 2023, and as the Capability and Culture Lead from April 2019 to September 2021.

Before joining News Corp Australia, Katie worked at News Corp as the Head of Sales Agency and Key Accounts from January to December 2018. Katie also held various positions at News Corp Australia, including Group Sales Director from June 2016 to December 2017, and Group Sales Manager from January 2015 to May 2016.

Katie'searlier experience includes roles at News Corp Australia as the Manager - Sales Associates from January 2013 to January 2014, Key Account Manager - Agencies from January 2011 to January 2013, and Agency Account Manager - The Australian from November 2008 to January 2011.

Prior to their time at News Corp, Katie worked as a Key Account Manager for OK Magazine at Northern and Shell from 2006 to 2008. Katie also gained experience as an Account Manager for CLEO and NW, and as an Account Executive for CLEO at Bauer Media Australia from 2001 to 2006.

Katie Halberstater has a diverse education history. In 1997, they earned their Bachelor's Degree in Media and Communication from QUT (Queensland University of Technology). Katie further pursued their studies at QUT and obtained an Honours Degree in Media & Film in 2001. In 2002, Katie attended UNSW, where they completed a Post Graduate degree in Commerce Media Sales, specializing in Communication and Media Studies. Later, in 2018, they attended QUT again to complete a Future Leaders Program Certificate. Recently, in 2022, Katie received a Certificate in Organisational Coaching (Level 1) from the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership (IECL). Additionally, they have acquired several certifications, including HBDI Certification from Herrmann Asia in 2022, and certifications in Marketing Tools: Digital Marketing and SEO Foundations from LinkedIn in 2019.
