Steven Smith

As Chief Acquisitions Officer, Steven Smith is responsible for leading and growing the acquisitions of healthcare, life sciences, and senior living real estate for NexCore Group, playing a key role in the creation of the company’s strategic initiatives, partnerships, and transactions. Steven collaborates with executive management to structure acquisition strategies leading to profitable ventures and long-term growth of the company.

Steven joined NexCore Group in 2021 and has more than 20 years of commercial real estate, private equity, and investment banking experience in the healthcare and alternatives investments. He has led the successful execution of over $2.5 billion in healthcare developments, acquisitions, and structured investments. Steven’s work has been recognized in the Wall Street Journal and various healthcare and real estate industry publications.

Steven received dual degrees in Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and International Business & Economics from the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University.

Steven is pursuing a Chartered Alternatives Investment Analyst designation, a candidate for Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), and is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Texas. He also serves as a guest lecturer for the Hankamer School of Business.
