Lisa Thorpe

Born and raised in Australia, Lisa completed her Bachelor’s of Education K-12 in Melbourne Victoria and worked as an upper elementary teacher and leader before moving to London to work and explore Europe. 11 years later, Lisa is still living and working away from Australia. Having lived in Dubai for 9 years, Lisa has had a number of Senior Leadership roles from Head of Teaching and Learning across 11 schools, to Principal of The Children’s Garden group, Acting Head of Secondary and Head of K- 8 at Al Mizhar American Academy.

Lisa’s passion is first and foremost being an educator. She believes that her roll in life was to make a difference to the life of children through education and developing strong relationships so students can grow in their confidence and ability.

In the most recent years, Lisa has traveled around the world researching the approach to positive education and wellbeing and believes in ensuring the wellbeing of all is an essential part of her role as a leader.

Lisa is excited to join the NGS team and continue to help it grow into a sought after Islamic American School.
