David Alpert

David Alpert has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. David is currently working as the Senior Director of Technology at Next League since September 2022. Before that, they held positions at Northfield IT, starting as a Senior DevOps Engineer from June 2017 to February 2019, then as a DevOps Team Lead from February 2019 to August 2021, and finally as the Director of Engineering from August 2021 to September 2022.

Prior to Northfield IT, David worked at KORE Wireless as a Solutions Architect from February 2014 to May 2015, and as a Development Manager for Connectivity in Winnipeg from May 2015 to May 2017.

Before that, they worked at Price Industries as a Senior Developer & Team Lead from September 2009 to February 2013, where they provided mentorship and career development support for a team of developers, established standards and processes, and focused on delivery.

David also worked at Bundl.it as a Front-end Engineer & Interaction Designer from 2009 to 2010, collaborating on the design, development, and launch of a custom URL shortener called Bundl.it.

Earlier in their career, they founded and served as the Lead Developer of Spin the Moose Media from April 1997 to December 2009.

David's experience also includes working as a Sr. Front-End Engineer & Technical Lead at Investors Group from February 2005 to September 2009, and as a Web Communications Specialist at AIDS Vancouver from September 2001 to September 2003.

David Alpert completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from McMaster University, where they studied from 1994 to 1998. Additionally, they pursued Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution at Menno Simons College from 1999 to 2000.
