Ali Naderi

Director at NextDecade

Ali Naderi has extensive work experience in the energy industry. Ali is currently working as a Director at NextDecade, leading their subsurface side of commercial-scale carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) projects. NextDecade is developing a large LNG export project in South Texas and one of the largest carbon capture and storage projects in North America. Prior to joining NextDecade, Ali worked as a Sr. Reservoir Engineer with expertise in CCUS at Texas OilTech Laboratories. Ali has also held research positions at the University of Texas at Austin, E.ON Energy Research Center, and RWTH Aachen University. Ali started their career as a Reservoir Engineer at the National Iranian Oil Company.

Ali Naderi's education history begins with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Chemical Engineering, which they obtained from Shiraz University between 1996 and 2001. Ali then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Petroleum Engineering from Delft University of Technology, from 2002 to 2004.

After completing their MSc, Naderi enrolled at RWTH Aachen University from 2006 to 2011, where they obtained their Ph.D. in Reservoir Engineering. Following their doctoral studies, Naderi joined The University of Texas at Austin as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Petroleum Engineering, from 2012 to 2013.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Naderi has also obtained certifications to enhance their knowledge and skills. In May 2018, they completed a Machine Learning program by Stanford University on Coursera. Furthermore, in August 2019, Naderi received the International Council for Machinery Lubrication Certification for Lubricant Analysis from the International Council for Machinery Lubrication (ICML).
