Robert Lantz

Robert Lantz has over 25 years of experience in the legal industry. Robert began their career in 1996 as an Associate Attorney at Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering, a general practice law firm with offices across the US, Europe and Asia. Robert served as Lead Associate for complex corporate, project finance, and bankruptcy/restructuring transactions globally and was successful in the bankruptcy reorganization of Iridium ($5B global satellite Phone Company), managing creditor claims and providing original analysis of private parties’ security interests in satellites under US law and Outer Space Treaties.

In 2000, Robert was recruited as Associate General Counsel for Lockheed Martin Global Telecommunications (formerly COMSAT Corp.), a telecommunications company providing global mobile communications solutions. Robert led legal affairs for telecom operations in Brazil, Russia, India, China, and Turkey including M&A, contract negotiations, corporate and commercial governance and managed in-house attorneys in Russia and Brazil.

In 2002, Robert was appointed Assistant Vice President and Associate General Counsel for EchoStar Satellite Services L.L.C. (formerly Hughes Network Systems), a $1.3B satellite networks and services wholly-owned subsidiary of EchoStar. Robert was recruited to undertake compliance change program to scale globally and align with growing business and managed an engaged team of 3 employees.

In 2005, Robert joined Serco as Divisional General Counsel and Company Secretary for Serco Asia Pacific. Serco Group is a multi-billion pound publicly-traded (FTSE 250) British-owned information technology and services company spanning Health, Transportation, Justice, Immigration, Defense and Citizen Services. Robert served as Board Director and Executive Management Team Member for Serco Australia A$785M company, managing corporate strategy, bids and sales, financial and operational performance, risk and compliance management. Robert also developed a high-performing cross-functional team of 20 employees, and cross-functional working groups, including in Data Privacy and Security (including GDPR and Australian regulations).

In 2019, Robert joined Wiss & Partners LLP as Of Counsel. Wiss & Partners LLP is a law firm specializing in international finance, project finance, M&A, and corporate matters. Robert was the sole internal counsel for a Silicon Valley company providing next generation 3-dimensional terrestrial GPS network (longitude, latitude, and altitude) for First Responders and commercial customers (B2C, B2B, and B2G). Robert was responsible for advising on Board and Investor matters.

Robert is currently the Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary at NextNav, a newly public company. Robert is responsible for establishing new company policies and procedures and advising on CEO and CFO on SEC matters.

Robert Lantz completed a Leadership Development Program at Harvard Business School Executive Education, a Master of Laws - LLM in International and Comparative Law at Georgetown University Law Center, a Juris Doctor at University of the Pacific - McGeorge School of Law, a Master of Business Administration - MBA at National University, and a Bachelor's of Arts in Government with a focus on International Relations and Affairs at California State University-Sacramento.
