Mikko Niiranen

Mikko Niiranen has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Mikko began their career as an R&D Trainee at Nokia Research Center, where they conducted research on authentication and authorization in mobile systems. During this time, they also worked on prototyping.

Mikko then joined Ericsson IPX - Manpower Professional Engineering as a Technical Sales Support, providing troubleshooting assistance for customer integrations and supporting the sales staff with technical expertise on SMS Messaging platforms.

After that, Mikko joined Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications as a Software Developer, specializing in C++ development for PC connectivity within the Symbian OS. Mikko was involved in all levels of the software stack, as well as integrating third-party software drivers and leading a WLAN security project.

Following their time at Sony Ericsson, they joined Giesecke & Devrient as a Software Engineer. Here they worked on Java software development for a Mobile Device Management product, which included high-performance and availability requirements. Mikko was involved in all phases of development, from requirements and programming to release, utilizing various technologies and tools. In 2014, they also took on the role of Software Architect for the product, steering the technical direction and analyzing customer requirements.

Most recently, Mikko has been working at Nexus Group – Global as a Software Engineer and Scrum Master. Mikko has been primarily focused on software development in Java for their Certificate Manager product, which supports multiple certificate enrollment protocols and enables the issuance, management, and validation of certificate-based electronic IDs. Their recent focus has been on V2X (Vehicle to Everything) technology.

Overall, Mikko Niiranen has experience in software development, technical sales support, and research, with a particular expertise in Java and C++ programming languages.

Mikko Niiranen graduated with a Msc degree in Computer Science from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology from 2001 to 2007. In 2004, they also had an exchange program at Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan, where they focused on Computer Science. Additionally, Mikko obtained the Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate certification from Microsoft in April 2021.
