Sridhar Desikan

Sridhar Desikan has a diverse and extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Sridhar most recently served as the Head of R&D and Regulatory Affairs at Nexus Pharmaceuticals, Inc., starting in 2023. Prior to that, they were the Global Technical Head of Formulations R&D at Piramal Pharma Solutions from 2020 to 2023.

From 2014 to 2020, Desikan held various leadership positions at Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, including Head of Technology Strategy and Innovation, Executive Vice President of Formulations R&D in North America and Europe, Vice President of Oral Solids, and Vice President and Site Head of Bangalore R&D. Sridhar was responsible for leading formulation R&D teams, delivering numerous product filings across geographies, and evaluating and integrating assets from external partners.

Before joining Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Desikan worked at Biocon-BMS R&D Center as the Director of Pharmaceutics & Analytical R&D, where they played a crucial role in establishing the center. Sridhar also had a role as a Principal Scientist at Biocon-BMS R&D Center, focusing on materials science properties and developing poorly water soluble compounds.

Desikan started their career at DuPont Pharmaceuticals, where they served as a Senior Research Investigator/Principal Investigator. Sridhar was responsible for establishing solid state chemistry capabilities and screening salts and polymorphs for development candidates. Prior to that, they worked at Novartis as a Senior Research Investigator, specializing in crystallization engineering and identifying suitable crystal forms for development candidates.

Sridhar Desikan's educational history begins in 1987 when they enrolled at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Chemical Engineering. Sridhar successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 1991.

Desikan continued their education at Bucknell University from 1991 to 1993, earning a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Chemical Engineering. Sridhar then proceeded to Iowa State University, where they pursued a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and completed the program in 1997.

In 2020, Desikan embarked on further education by enrolling in the Harvard Medical School's HMX Pro Online Certification Program. Sridhar pursued courses in Genetics, Immunology, Immuno-oncology, and Pharmacology, earning an HMX Pro Online Certification in these areas in 2021.

Throughout their education, Sridhar Desikan has focused primarily on Chemical Engineering, acquiring a strong foundation in the field through their undergraduate, master's, and doctoral studies.
